How to Prepare Your Home Before the Stagers Arrive
Before install day: finish repairs and paint, deep-clean, clear personal items and clutter, make sure the power and lights work, and give our crew clear access and parking. A prepared home installs faster and photographs better.
One to two weeks before
- Finish repairs and touch-up painting. Staging looks best on fresh, neutral walls.
- Replace burned-out bulbs and mismatched light temperatures. Warm white (2700–3000K) photographs best.
- Book your photographer for the day after install.
A few days before
- Deep-clean, including windows, baseboards, floors and bathrooms. For vacant homes, the final clean should be done before we arrive.
- For occupied homes: remove personal photos, collections, excess furniture and anything on kitchen and bathroom counters.
- Clear closets to about half full. Buyers open doors.
Install day
- Make sure we have access: keys or lockbox code, gate codes, and HOA elevator or parking reservations if needed.
- Keep the driveway or curb space clear for the truck.
- If you live there, plan to be out for the install. It goes faster.
After install
- Don't move the furniture. It's placed for photos and flow.
- For occupied homes, keep a quick daily reset routine: make the beds, clear counters and open the blinds.

Questions
Should I paint before staging?
If walls are scuffed, dark or very bold, yes. Fresh, neutral paint makes staging and photos look their best.
Do I need to be home during install?
No. Most clients give us access and we handle the install without anyone needing to be there.
